Wednesday Wisdom: When You Speak

​Today, we focus on speaking life-giving words with this excerpt from another poem in "Let's Do Lemonade".


WHEN YOU SPEAK

When you speak / Do so with grace / So, hearers are uplifted and edified
Whether it be through encouragement, inspiration, exhortation or rebuke
 
When you speak / Do so with honesty / Even in moments of spontaneous utterance
Let your pronouncements be grounded in truth
Truth which neither seeks nor exalts in fanfare
 
When you speak / Do so with purpose
Let your words be a beacon / Not necessarily to fill a room
But to engage, enlighten or satisfy a welcoming soul
