Greetings...
Freedom, rights, and responsibilities go hand in hand. There is a heightened collective consciousness at this time in Canada, that we should never take these for granted. With this in mind, I share the following composition. CANADA, BLESSED COUNTRY Our country vast and free / Vistas of majesty / As fate designed Settlers from distant lands / Join with First Nations bands / Toiling as life demands / Progress to find Canada e'er shall see / Deep civic loyalty / In hearts aglow We stand on guard for thee / And thy blest sov’reignty / From sea to shining sea / Goodwill to show Cultural legacy / Marked by diversity / One of a kind Calm, trust, and confidence / Fairness and common sense / Will make us greater, hence / None left behind Honouring dignity / We’re righting history / Wellness our goal We move from ignorance / To thoughtful vigilance / Wisdom and forbearance / So all is whole Turning to right from wrong / In unity made strong / Truth is our guide With hope we ever strive / To keep our dreams alive / In victory we’ll thrive / Purpose applied Our country shall not cease / To work for lasting peace / With souls set free Breaking the curse worldwide / Of hatred multiplied / Justice no more denied / Love is the key Shared stewardship we ply / Over land, sea, and sky / Threats won’t alarm Protecting our frontier / No foe we’ll ever fear / God as our helper near / Shields us from harm O God, please keep our land / Firm in Thy mighty hand / From shore to shore We’ll shout triumphantly / As life and liberty / Peace and prosperity / Reign ever more David A. Greetings and happy day.
The recent snowstorms across much of Canada have unfailingly dressed the landscape with incredible beauty. Generally, they have also paralyzed routine activities because of sheer volume and, in some places, have made travelling treacherous or impossible. Such is the diverse power of nature. Throughout the multiplied efforts at clean-up, I have been reminded of a number of things. These include: *the value of preparedness for whatever life may throw at us *that one event can significantly and swiftly change our situation *the importance of neighbourliness in supporting and caring for each other, especially during challenging times *there is joy in knowing that storms don’t last forever, and *see the good in life’s varied experiences, and enjoy the positive opportunities that they bring. I trust you are staying well and warm as the winter drifts along. #winterland #stormsoflife #canadianwinter Hello and happy day! ’Tis the season when ‘love’ takes the spotlight in our culture. Arguably, if ever a time we needed love, it is now. Indeed, as the ageless song says: “What the world needs now is love, sweet love; it's the only thing that there's just too little of. What the world needs now is love, sweet love, no not just for some but for everyone”. Oh for more love which brings unity to our own hearts and in our relationships. All the best as you continue to be a conduit of true love in its varied expressions. To conclude, here are some verses from a related, original poem…. WHERE LOVE ABIDES (EXCERPT) Where love abides pure hearts confess / The need for truth and thoughtfulness Concern is shown for those around / Respect and restfulness abound With kindliness, it never fails / Where love abides good will prevails ………. Where love abides there’s music sweet / While gleefully, companions meet They offer strength, support and care / And even go where eagles dare Where love abides, all fears erase / The two can’t live in the same space Where love abides, spirits unite / There’s no desire to fuss or fight With love, just like a little child / Divided hearts are reconciled And then committed, they’ll contend / For propriety without end ………. Where love abides there is no list / Of life’s misgivings or things missed There’s high regard for equity / With oneness in diversity And as love flows the world shall know / Great blessings which will overflow Where love abides, we comprehend / That dignity, we must extend To one and all throughout the land / Then grace we come to understand For we comprise one family / In faith and hope and charity ………. Love ups the value of our deeds / And always to rightness concedes It’s prized above the finest gold / Or rich wealth that treasuries hold In love we’re circled on all sides / Yes, all bodes well where love abides #love #peace #valentinesday Greetings...
In these differently challenging times, let's stay anchored by choosing the realm of joy. Below is an original poem which echoes this sentiment. Have a nice day. CHOOSE MORE THAN HAPPINESS Oftentimes we have heard it said / ‘What makes you happy is what’s best So, follow your heart in earnest / And let time take care of the rest’ But we should note that happiness / Is based on current circumstance Like vines that wilt in scorching heat / Borne by winds that storm happenstance Because happiness is fickle / We really should seek something more That is steadfast and far deeper / Permeating right to our core The heart may fast be corrupted / Its passion, sometimes a decoy So, reason says ‘pursue rightness / Which guarantees eternal joy’ Yes, joy the utmost resonance / A well-spring that generates life A constant, delightful presence / Which is unfazed by loss or strife Joy like a river deep and wide / Brings great strength to embattled souls As peace and laughter come flooding / They fill sorrow’s cavernous holes Joy teaches to patiently trust / And not worry about our fate It guides us on paths of wisdom / Giving reasons to celebrate We’ll sing and dance with gladdened hearts / From this fruit which naught can destroy Over and above happiness / Let us choose unspeakable joy #joy #resilience #stability Happy day to you...
The month of January is almost over. Indeed, we are fast nearing the end. *In this new year and month, what has been your biggest surprise so far? *What are some experiences that have brought you laughter? *If you could change one thing, what might that be? *What has been one of your proudest moments? *What is one thing you are yet hoping for before the month ends? What might it take for this to become reality? Congrats on all your progress as you continue to hold on to hope. #travel #journey #success Greetings....
To say we are living in challenging times, is perhaps an understatement. There is a wild mix of variables precipitating unprecedented stress and fear - personally and communally, as well as locally and internationally. In the midst of daily struggles, it is critical to our well-being that we seek out, pursue, and celebrate the good. Given all that characterizes current times, what keeps you grounded? What makes you hopeful? What are some ways in which you (as an ally) might help stem the tide for those around? Good cheers as you make the best of each day. Keep pressing on! #kindness #resilience #hope Greetings....
I trust that the New Year is off to a fine start for you, despite the many challenges that abound. For those who are in the throes of grief, loss, suffering or disappointment, may you retain a positive outlook and find comfort and strength in the hope that a new year brings. Be encouraged! Here's to each and everyone as we do our best in navigating 2025... DUALITIES IN THE JOURNEY We are all born into the kingdom of dual territories The territory of sorrow And the territory of joy The territory of fear And the territory of love The territory of doubt And the territory of hope The territory of cowardness And the territory of courage The territory of illness And the territory of health In our humanity, as transient citizens, each of us is fated to travel between these dualities In fact, this ongoing migration constitutes the very essence of life Greetings to you.
As we turn the calendar, you and your loved ones are wished all things bright and beautiful for 2025. Below is an excerpt from a recent poem to help launch this new chapter: HERE’S TO A NEW YEAR Antique hands turn and the clock strikes twelve / Marking the start of a brand new year And in fine spirits I shout, ‘that’s a wrap’ / Joining in the spontaneous cheer Then thankfully, I pause to reflect / On the blessings of the year just past And ask myself, what have I rendered / To make a difference that will last In the post-celebration stillness / I ponder wishes I’d like to see Come to pass over the next twelve months / Yes, I am filled with expectancy My earnest hope for what lies ahead / Is found in all that will satisfy And how well I’ll navigate the course / Including more new things I might try ...... Ah, truth brings greater thirsting for life / And resurrects hopes once thought as dead So, I’ll release regrets from the past / And fix my eyes on the prize instead ...... I know as I start a fresh chapter / These thoughts will resurface now and then And I’ll hold myself accountable / When I celebrate New Year’s again View the full text @ https://youtu.be/Mkm8Mt15l8g David McAdam - © 2025 #newyear #resolution #2025 Good day.
As we anticipate the dawn of a new year, we look back on the closing year with gratitude for health, strength and supportive relationships, among other things. Life is fleeting, so we ever seek to do good to others via thoughtful expressions of positivity. This does a world of wonders, as cited in the following reminder: Timely tributes of affirmation Bring out more goodness than we can tell Yes, flowers are always more favored When the receiver can see and smell #timeliness #kindness #appreciation Greetings to you….
’Tis the season of good cheer, described in a popular song as "the most wonderful time of the year”. As we celebrate, may each of us find renewal and refreshing in (and from) all that is bright and beautiful. With gratitude, we look back at the varied experiences of the closing year. We also acknowledge that there are folks who face real struggles at this festive time (because of loss, pain, grief, stress, tensions, unrest, oppression, incapacity, etc.). And we stay mindful of the need to be supportive of each other. As the years fly by, we reflect on the poignant reminder in the Good Book: to number our days, so we can apply our hearts to wisdom. May peace, hope and joy be yours in added measure as you anticipate a New Year. #gratitude #holidays #newyear |
