Greetings… I trust all is well with you.
Geopolitics is changing fast at present times. I am challenged as I process current occurrences.... And I pray for lasting peace to be a universal reality as I record the following words:

Happy day to you.…
At yesterday’s visit with my podiatrist, in discussing follow-up exercises, we landed on a familiar, yet timeless reminder of keeping what matters in (full) view. In this case, regular exercise is more likely when the supporting tools are handy or in view. Put differently, “out of sight, out of mind.” Here are some thoughts connected to this conversation:
To close, here’s a piece that was written couple years ago. Good cheers as you ‘keep your eyes fixed on the prize.’ SIMPLE QUIETNESS In times of simple quietness Strength like the noonday sun is found For stillness brings a focus clear Despite distractions that surround And nothing trumps the blessedness That meek souls in quietness see Mercy, goodness, and gracious love Their guaranteed reality Yes, with calm trust, the humble live As the sweet welcome voice they hear In quietness comes emptying With rebirth and refilling there David McAdam ©2026 - www.davidmcadam.ca #focus #fulfilment # attention Greetings...
Today we focus on challenges relating to personal wellness. Sickness is a common (part of the) human experience. In sickness we face, among other things:
Good cheers. AS YOU HEAL You may be down, but you’re not out From the battle that is at hand Sharp setbacks come on varied fronts The vast majority unplanned Midst joy or pain, know you’re valued And needful healing comes by grace In ways that heaven will define So, hold this truth in close embrace It’s not always easy to tell The purpose of things we go through Yet, joining in trust for wholeness Loved ones walk this valley with you In weakness, may your faith stay firm To believe for the very best Then in due time you’ll soar on high And by some means move past this test Yes, as you fight, to courage cleave And let no bitterness be sown So, too, guard well against despair Draw strength from happy hours you’ve known Friend, persistently look upward To hope’s bright and glorious light That guides us to the break of dawn From pain-filled shadows of the night Please take this prayer for wellness As a fond kiss upon your brow And by kind carers’ nurturance Will comfort come to you somehow Mind put-at-ease, eyes washed with tears In peace and patience may you find Through miracles of earthly life Relief for body, soul, and mind Healing is heaven’s bread to you Know by this struggle you’re transformed Led unto newness by the One In whose likeness you’re being formed David McAdam ©2026 - www.davidmcadam.ca #mentalhealth #sickness #recovery Good day to you...
Last Friday's early morning music line-up on the local Classical FM Radio Station included “Gone With the Wind - Tara’s Theme.” While listening, I was stirred to scribe the song lyrics below. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it seems fitting to share this composition. As an option, I’ve attached a link to one rendition of “Tara’s Theme” as musical accompaniment to the lyrics. (Wait for the 27-second intro, then minimize the YouTube page as you read or sing along.) Tara’s Theme Here’s to love in its many splendored expressions! Kind regards... David THE LOVE WE SHARE You have my heart Come take my hand So side by side, dear We’ll rise to stand On greater heights Where love grows deep With memories, sweet Of bliss to keep Life’s ups and downs Won’t matter much If we are one And just live as such This love we share Was meant to be It moves us to our Shared destiny What e’er doth come Through all there be Take confidence, you Can count on me And as our strength In joy or pain Faith, hope, and love will Always remain Charting the course Let’s vow to stay On paths that lead us To fairer day See, my desire What e’er I do Is all for true love My love for you ©2026 - David McAdam www.davidmcadam.ca #friendship #love #valentinesday Greetings…
Happy February to you. Within the context of Black History Month, we honour those who have sought, and are seeking, to make this a fairer world. So too, we acknowledge that, in our own way, each of us has the capacity and, indeed, the responsibility to contribute to this legacy. You see, while progress has been made, we are met all too often with reminders that there is still a long way to go. Kudos to you for rising above injustice and indifference as you make a positive difference. ASCENT Probe your pure and noble thoughts Along with ones that are held by others To help you understand And appreciate The gift of life And what you should really Make of your own At the same time Acquire sound knowledge And wise instruction Through Solemn contemplation Groundswells of hatred and divisiveness Are born out of weakness And pride progressively and persistently Blocks The light of truth For those who choose to dwell in darkness One is made fulfilled And free By humbling and denying self In the name of love Thereupon one rises To cheerful, spontaneous kindliness Both in word and deed David McAdam ©2026 - www.davidmcadam.ca #blackhistorymonth #equity #inclusivity Greetings…
Trusting you are well. Here are some focal questions to contextualize this Blog: - How would you describe the state of our world today? - What are some good things worth celebrating? - In what areas is there need for change? - How hopeful are you for the future? - What’s one helpful thing within your control at which you will keep working? - Below is a brief commentary on contemporary society. How might this compare with your current view? Hello and happy day…
Last night, thanks to a friend, I was privileged to be among two thousand attendees at a local signature event, dubbed “An Evening with Eli Sharabi.” His is an incredible story of survival, having spent 491 days in Hamas captivity, upon being abducted on October 7, 2023. Last night's event also initialized the writing of the Sharabi Torah, in honour of those lost in the horrible brutality. Kudos to the organizers. Among my take-aways and points of reflection:

I am delighted to be back after a brief break, with this first post for 2026. The world is changing fast, and in ways that challenge our thinking, our health, and likely our faith. Having just returned from a two-week, cross-country, choral music tour of Cuba, among other things, my sense of gratitude for life has been renewed. To travel, is to learn deeply. I give thanks for the warmth and resilience of the Cuban people. Simultaneously, I wrestle with the ironies, paradoxes, and raw realities that characterize the present day - in a beautiful country which has experienced decades of difficulties from internal and external forces. In this tension, I resort to putting pen to paper. Here is an extract from a piece that is ‘under construction’ - in honour of the people of Cuba and their indomitable spirit… RICHES IN POVERTY (EXCERPT) Still the poor laugh hard midst their suffering For somehow, they have come to realize That material wealth and possessions Do not constitute life’s ultimate prize As they reach out and lend a helping hand Unto the lonely, the lame, and the lost Joy resonates, even in doom and gloom Yes, regardless of the physical cost See, their bright countenance is not defined By earthly experiences, all told For with minds fixed on things otherworldly There is richness in the hope that they hold They seek to rise above futile thinking Indeed, their song and dance will never cease And with grateful hearts, the poor shout for joy Then lay their heads down in heavenly peace David McAdam - www.davidmcadam.ca ©2026 #Cuba #Havana #music Happy holidays...
This marks the final post for 2025. What a year it has been! Wishing you and your loved ones the very best as you, with gratitude, continue to spread hope and good cheer. With thanks for your ongoing support, I share the following piece... CHEERFUL SOULS Cheerful souls Never cease to bear open arms Wilfully embracing abundance They ponder positive thoughts and shower splendid deeds As they ever strive to engage in kindliness With love-filled spontaneity David McAdam ©2025 - www.davidmcadam.ca #generosity #kindness #love Season’s greetings…
As 2025 fast comes to a close, it is only fitting to express thanks for life, and to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us. Below is a short poem in their honour. And to those who experienced loss during this year: may fond memories, the support of friends, and heaven’s comfort bring strength and solace to you as you walk the valley of grief. Blessed shalom! RIPPLES The sun has set; yes, night has come A brilliant star falls from the sky And as it disappears from sight It isn’t a pointless goodbye. For in still waters where it plunged Tremendous ripples now appear They speak well of its influence Brightening lives year after year. And in this hour, with gratitude I take hope as my thoughts contend That the impact of this downed star Sparks golden ripples without end. David A.
