Monday Meditation: The Fight for Freedom

Greetings.... 
Today, we remember all who have helped to secure the freedom that we enjoy. Lest we forget, freedom is made free to us, but comes at a huge cost. In what ways must we vigilantly stand on guard for freedom? 
Here is a tribute to all those who have battled and rallied in the name of freedom....

WAR
 
Torpedoes, bullets, missiles / Downing planes and sinking ships
Men and nations fighting war / In the name of peace and bliss
 
The killing fields are flaming red / Much brighter than poppy groves
With streams of blood forming pools and ponds / As we lose our sons in droves
 
War is vicious, with answers slim / And destruction now extreme
The decimation of lives, the calamitous drive / A high price of freedom’s dream
