Flashback Friday: Mixed Emotions

Happy Friday...

This is a season of mixed emotions on various counts. For brevity sake, here are two mentions:
First, renewed thoughts and prayers go out for those who are, or have been, plagued by natural, political and social disasters. We hold to hope.
Second, as the world evolves, we look to the past to gauge our progress, and gratefully acknowledge the net gains that we realize. The following is an item (with an unvarnished slant) from Let's Do Lemonade...


MORAL SHIFT
 
Somewhere between eventide and morning 
Valuable moral marbles got lost
This ain’t a conspiracy theory 
There’s collateral damage at great cost
Under the guise of rescript and progress
Some precious stones were cast out in the heat 
As we turn to face shadows, time will tell
If all absolutes will turn obsolete
