The past week has truly been multifaceted, including: fluctuations in the weather, peaking of the fall colours, the wedding of a friend, the funeral for mothers of two friends, winterizing the gardens, etc, etc. But IN everything we give thanks…. To all the recently bereaved, condolences...I dedicate this poem to you...

MEMORIES OF YOU

Memories of you come flooding
Like rolling waves on the seas
They propel thoughts of who you were
What you meant
And incubate dreams of what you could have been
 
Out on the seas of time
These memories
Also become lifelines of hope and joy
They buoy our spirits
And help us to smile in the face of grief
 
Our hearts can sing
To the music of the good fortune we experienced 
In sharing love, life and laughter with you
 
Yes, you may be gone
But you’re not forgotten
We may have lost your physical presence
But now you are truly free
 
Beyond all doubt
Your finest qualities live on
Because they have impacted us for eternity
Yes, memories of you
Shall live on through each life that you have touched
 
Enjoy your deserved rest
In the harbour of plenteous peace
