Flashback Friday: Gratitude Moment

Greetings... 
Today, I look back (yet again) with gratitude for all the formal and informal mentors and teachers who have invested, or  are  investing, in my life. Thanks to each and everyone for your contribution to my ongoing success.
These and other thoughts or sentiments have coalesced in a poem on which I am working. Here is an excerpt:


EVERYONE IS A TEACHER

Inherently, we’re all teachers / Who give instructions everyday 
By what we model to the world / Yes, the sum of all we display 
 
The truth be told, our lives are filled / With many tales that we convey
Formally or informally / Our lessons surface, come what may 
 
The issue is not that we teach / It’s more about how we do so
Our very thoughts and words and deeds / Are  powerful seeds that we sow
And as we live, our influence / Is most impactful on young minds 
So, our lessons are by design / With room for spontaneous kinds 
 
We teach content consistently / Of what it takes to persevere 
In ways we cast our vision, and / Through the obstacles that we clear 
We teach by what we choose to shun / And by the things we opt to share
Our values and priorities / Through these selections are laid bare
…...
The best within us will inspire / Others to move progressively
And find the treasure in themselves / By claiming truth unceasingly
